The state cannot assist you in any case as it cannot assist Greek citizens either. Occasionally, however there are employment programs for migrants or refugees run by the Greek Manpower Employment Organization (www.oaed.gr).

According to the legislation,also applicable for Greek citizens, insurance is mandatory whether it’s paid by your employer or by you in case you are self-employed.
